There known for the rear wipers seizing up, either strip and free off spindle part or simply fit another secondhand one.
Obviously check your fuses first but after lack of use over a year its likely.

So neither the washer or wiper is working? Screams fuse or broken wire (tailgates tend to do that!) to me. If the wash function worked but not the wiper (or vice versa) then it would more likely point at motor or pump.

Since the motors not working that does suggest fuse. If it was just the wiper not working that could be a broken wire. Does the wiper work on its own, ie no wash? If the you can hear the motor work but no jet that could be the tube come apart under the floor of the boot. We'll narrow it down.

Hi guys, thank you both very much. Having installed new headlights I noticed the levelling motors were not working. I never needed to adjust the old headlights.Turned out to be a blown fuse. Having renewed that the rear wash/wipe are both working. Were I to enter Mastermind my specialist subject would be "the bleeding obvious". Thanks again. jack
