My dash cam caught a team of scrotes trying to nick my car this morning, at 0400.

Fortunately, their relay attack failed, thanks to Michael Faraday.

Unfortunately not. Just shadowy hooded figures, headlights, torch lights and the sound of the door handle being repeatedly pulled.

I’ll check the house cameras later.

Michael Faraday was a wonderful guy!
However, I find the fact that his help is needed to keep your
car from being stolen (almost?) nullifies the feature.

Agreed. I like what Ford have done to tackle the issue, with their new key fob, that goes to sleep, after 40 seconds.

Simple, cost effective and Volvo should get their arse in gear and roll them out to us.

I’d still put it in the Faraday Pouch, but that’s just me...

I still can't believe such a flawed design was produced for so long amongst so many manufactures. Stories like this panic me with our keyless Lexus.
Result for the op. Still not a nice situation tho!

Perhaps you can disable it?

Now I've read that it seems like such a simple idea!

How does it work, key senses movement then wakes up and transmits?

Thinking about it, it just seems daft the key is constantly transmitting, heck, even an on/off slider on the side of the key would work wonders!

Which pouch do you have?

It isn’t, currently the key is constantly listening, new design stops the key from listening if there has been no movement for a bit.
