Default Improved MPG, 32 to 35 nearly

Hi folks, my MPG has improved somewhat, having replace injector for a 2nd user one and replaced the glow plugs its now just under 35mpg and rising depending, iwas around 32 and that was full on Miss Daisy. Driving style this time round is is part and part, sometimes Miss Daisy, sometimes tickling it a lot, mostly single A roads, 20min journey's or so, done some dual carriage way too but only about 20 miles, , shorter dual road when I go shopping, I tend to open it up. This reset was done about 400 miles ago.

My Miss Daisy is as follows

80% on cruise control, whenever the road allows, be it a 30 or a 70mph
80% is in manual (auto)
Changing gear as soon as it allows, making sure im in 6th from 50 onwards, if its a 30, i will take it to 32 so that i can get 6th gear, you can change gear much sooner in manual than it will do in auto.
I am vigilantly aware of the instantaneous and keeping that as high as i can.

As a side note, it makes me wonder if its the original mapping, it is bloody quick and i am sure its a around 8s 0-60 in manual....

Thats my post for today, carry on...

Mines quick also but a few forums members have mentioned mine could very well be mapped because of a fault code relating to the software. My MPGs a bit poor but I taken that down to the possible injectors and I always use aircon all the time which obviously saps fuel.

for me, It could be that cause I've been so used to a 1.9DCI for so long, i'd forgotten the difference of a quicker care lol having said that, the renault was no slouch, those engines are pretty nippy, top end not so good. I deffo didn't expect the volvo to be as nippy as it is, not tried top end, I did manage 120 on a private road not long back, still clawing well.....

Just looked up the specs, 140mph top speed and 0-60 is 8.5sec, that is not too shabby and will explain a lot as for the mpg, that's got to be a joke lol

Similar, but the V70 is slightly heavier with it being longer & wider than the S60.

I think there's around 40kg or so weight difference between the V70 & the S60, with the V70 being the heavier of the two.

The later P3 V70's are even heavier, but they're a bigger car again in comparison to the older shape P2 ones.

That 40kg can be mititgate depening on what you have in the boot etc. I am a loner so my car is always empty except for dog walking, then there is an extra 90kg max in the back.

Yep, weight can fluctuate depending on what you're carrying. Although, if you put the same amount of luggage that was in the S60 weight wise into the boot of the V70 & yourself being the driver, the V70 would still be heavier because its a heavier vehicle to start with.

Above you say, "I am vigilantly aware of the instantaneous and keeping that as high as i can."

That is an excellent way to create a collision. Just "bashing" your balls. Hope you don't mind.
