I run the Uniroyal Rainsports and would agree with the reviewer's comments.

I just don't get buying cheap, rubbish tyres...it's the only thing between you and certain death. There's are lots of things in life to save money on - tyres and brakes aren't 2 of them.

So the consensus is as expected.

It's a bit like asking what's your favourite cheese?

Sort of, there are definitely some to avoid though. At least if there is a shortlist of tyres people have good results with it helps!

Has anyone with an XC70 fitted Yokohama Geolander AT GO15? I religiously ran Yokohama Advans on my old performance cars so quite like the brand.

I run cross climates and haven't had any cause for concern. All the video reviews I watched prior to buying highlighted there excellent wet weather performance which is one of the reasons I went for them. Have you checked tyre pressure?

A wee update on this, only fair as I started the thread after concerns about Cross Climates!

I did check my tyre pressures again which were a bit low (new gauge needed for my home air line!), this made the drive a bit better but still had issues with the DTSC goign nuts on occasion. Decided to check the reluctor rings and found the drivers side to be cracked and also the drive shaft end bolt wasn't the tightest. New ring fitted and oh my word what a difference, masses of grip and plenty roadholding ability. I would say for all the warning lights weren't always on, the signal must have been a bit intermittant all the time I was getting ABS kick through the pedal when parking.

So, no complaints about Michelin Cross Climates anymore!

Dunlop ST20 Grandtrek on an XC70 seem to be a good tyre. Michelin all season on my other XC70 doesn't feel as secure when travelling on the same road.

Pirelli Scorpions, Car came with them on, had no issues so have replaced them. We don't tend to get extremes in weather down our neck of the woods anymore. Would agree though that they do wear rapidly in hot weather which we have had a lot of lately.
