Default Buying a Xc90 2011 Executive.

Hi all. Just a quick couple of questions. I'm just about to buy a 11 plate xc90 executive model. On the test drive this evening one of the front xenon lights started to flicker very slightly and then was OK after turning off and on again. Is this likely to be balast related and just need a replacement module. That's one question. The 2nd question is the one we was more concerned with. The air con was turned off and the fan was off while I was test driving so I can hear everything. Half way through the test drive I turned the ac and fan back on. On returning to there house and switching off there was water dripping under the engine tray towards the rear of the engine and on the passenger side. The water was clear and didn't smell of coolant. I didn't use the washers and it wasn't raining. Is this some evaporation from the ac we are concerned? Is there anything else I should look out for?

It's condensate from the AC, perfectly normal and more noticeable on warm and humid days.

No idea about your lights query.

Regarding the Xenons: sounds like the bulbs are reaching end of life.

Quality Xenon bulbs last around 120,000 km / 75000 miles if they have been used as DRLs their entire life.

All vehicles with AC have the puddles under them. As for lights I would phone Volvoand see how much fora ew one.

Is it going to be bulb related or ballast?

My pick is bulb. To confirm, remove a bulb, check manufacture date and vehicle Odometer. If these confirm bulb is old, chances are the bulb needs replacing.

Easiest check is to swap the bulbs over and see if the problem moves with the bulb or stays on the same side of the car.
