Dog guards
Just wondering which is the best dog guard for the v50, which also allows you to keep the function of the luggage cover section (if at all possible?!)
My dog can jump through from the boot area so want a dog guard but would also like to retain the sliding luggage cover for when the dogs not in the car etc. Thanks. |

I use the luggage net which clips to tha back seat. It works fine for my dog there is a metal dog guard which folds up to the roof when not in use. Both available on eBay and sometimesin the for sale section on here.

I'd disagree with you on that point. Part of the function of the dog guard is to prevent your dog becoming a projectile in the even of a front on collision. Not a very nice thought but something that needs to be considered.
In a collision, anything in the back of the vehicle that is not securely restrained will travel forwards and can have the equivalent weight of 10 times that at rest. Hence the metal guard. |

I agree about the metal guard etc.
I've found this one which seems easy to fit and still allows use of the rear sliding luggage cover, but a bit pricey! Can anyone give me the link to the one that folds up into the roof? Is that one easy to fit or does it require drilling /screwing into the roof of the car? Thanks. |

Why not buy the fold down one which is made for the V50? That way you can fold it down when you need it and fold it back up to the roof out of the way when you don't need it!
On the cargo net/folding load net cover that goes up from a spool, I wouldn't bother with this. I bought one and my dog, about Labrador size, was always sitting in my driver's seat when I returned to the car! The proper dog guard covers the sides beside the windows. Whereas the cargo/load net does not.

Weejada77, yes that's the one I'm on about. I just can't find it when searching in Google, as most of them don't look like they fold up to the roof.
Can you provide the link to me? Thanks. |

Yes, I think luggage would be just a dangerous, that's why my cargo net has never been used, even now we don't have a dog I still use the steel grill.
