As some of you might have seen my 760 was recently on eBay and unfortunately didn't meet reserve. Had quite a lot of interest but naturally people can't be bothered to view unless there is a proper price, so here it is! Most of the advert is the same as before, except I will also put on 6 months tax. So thats 11 months MOT (now) and 6 months tax (once I nip to the post office!) Price is £1,350 o.v.n.o.

1989 Volvo 760 2.3 Turbo Intercooler Estate (B230ET)

4 Speed Automatic, 162,500 miles, 11 months MOT (expires 25/09/2013), will be taxed until 30/4/2013, full service history with a folder stuffed full of invoices and receipts. Excellent condition for year.

Four cylinder turbo petrol (182bhp B230ET non-cat version), rear wheel drive with 4 speed automatic gearbox, 162,500 miles with an amazing service history (two books!), massive stack of receipts/sheets dating back to the early 90's (including Volvo inspection sheets dating back to 1992 at 20k miles) and MOTs going back to 2002. It has had five previous owners (last owner had it for 8 years, previous to that 5 years, I've had it for 2) and at least two private registrations in its life.

Metallic wine red with full tan leather interior. Serviced predominately with genuine Volvo parts. Electric sunroof, 4x electric windows with rear window over-ride, electric heated mirrors, electric climate control system (in 1989!), electric driver's seat, headlight wipers, power steering, ABS, split folding rear seats, 15" alloys. Genuine Volvo load cover, Volvo hard plastic floor mats, Volvo boot liner, plastic boot tray and also comes with a large aluminium roof rack which I have acquired over the past two years.

Low mileage and excellent condition for its year both inside and out, never been smoked in, had pets in nor towed in 23 years it would appear which is rare for one of these! Although please do remember this is a 23 year old car so it isn't perfect, although there can't be many left as nice as this one! Stamped history up until 2009 (mostly main dealer until 2001 at 102k miles, then Volvo specialist until 2010), self serviced thereafter when I bought the car in 2010. New power steering rack in 2011, good tyres and lots of money/time spent during my ownership to help restore the car to its former glory. The previous owner had a very minor bump to the front right corner and as a consequence it has a cat C claim against it in 2005 due to the age of the car i.e. it was uneconomical to repair as the quote was from the main Volvo dealer £££. Damage was very slight and I have fixed the remaining damage by replacing the cracked front bumper so it looks spot on once more ('before' pictures available). The bumper bar had no damage and I still have it for proof!

Car drives smoothly and without fuss (plus the enjoyable surge when kicking down and the turbo spools up!), I have taken this car on two family holidays travelling over 300 miles in each direction and totalling nearly 1,000 miles in one week each time. The car was spot on. I got 34mpg on the way down travelling at a steady 68mph indicated and fully loaded with passengers and holiday gear.

Unlike many 700 series, the fuel gauge works perfectly and the instrument cluster again works perfectly - the only tiny issue is the trip meters a bit dim! The speedo, clock, rev counter etc... are all fine & bright. Also being a face lift 760 it has an aluminium bonnet, tailgate and sunroof I'm led to believe The headlining is also very good, no tears/holes and doesn't droop. Although it has gone slightly 'baggy' along the edges but it is really pretty minor.

I also have a sizeable collection of new and used spares that will come with the car e.g. a spare headlight (like new), new genuine drive belts, new genuine Volvo front brake pads etc... etc... It has been a labour of love and this is a very reluctant sale due to the purchase of yet another Volvo. Volvo owners club member (scored 80/100 at the Northern Best Kept Volvo competition). The picture in the field was taken at the 50th National Volvo Owners Club rally and 700 series 30th anniversary celebrations in June this year. A true practical classic.
