Hmmmm......so, taking an unknown (to him) disc that he has no knowledge of the manufacturing process/stress handling capabilities of, he is then going to cut slots/drill dimples in it? Sorry, but that sounds dodgy.

From trying to help, by putting something up that i thought might have been useful,to be battered down by all, in my eyes.

Next time i think i'll keep my help and suggestions to myself.

Anyway on a lighter note, my front headlight glass has cracked do you know if they can be changed or do i need the whole lamp unit?

Regarding the headlamp glass, is it for the S40 or the S60?

Looks like you can replace them on at least some models:

As dooby said it does depend on which model you are talking about. from your most recent post history i can see you have a S60 D5, so if that is the car you are talking about then unfortunately you cant get the lens separate, it is a sealed unit and only the whole lamp can be sourced as a replacement.

Retail price for a brand new volvo genuine lamp is £197.41 inc vat, our price is £157.92 inc vat, plus £8 Delivery charge (DHL 48 hour service)

(If it is a S40 you are on about, then yes you can change just the glass, but i would need to know if it was a single or twin headlamp before being able to get the price.)

Thanks Rufe for that I thought they were going to be more than that and yes it is a 2003 s60 D5.

Just gotta save up i'll have one off you at the end of Oct ( Bonus month in work)!!

What are they like to fit.

Is it an all day job for just a home diy er?
