Default I just Bought S40 2.0 Auto

Hi Guys, after looking for a couple of weeks i put a deposit down on my new car last friday and hopefully should be picking the car up tomorrow.

Its a 2001 Y Reg S40 2.0 Automatic with only 17,400 Miles on the clock.

So then Have i done the right thing! i set out to buy myself a nice safe car that'll be comfortable to eat up the motorway miles in. 60 a day.

Anybody else got one of these? whats your opinions? does it move alright? whats your economy like?

i look forward to a long and healthy relationship with volvo's

i have a 97 2.0 auto thats covered around 85k 22 of that in last 11 months ,and its been fine no problems apart from consumables like driveshaft boot perishing etc .
i have to say im a bit disapointed with the performance doesnt go as well as i would like or expect a 2.0 to ,but having said that i downsized from a 2.9 24v cosworth .
economy to give an idea i have just covered 540.miles in 2 days mostly motorway and A roads down to Cornwall with some town driving on way down computer said i averaged 79 mph and 31mpg on way back consumption was 28.7 mpg so i suppose its not to bad
hope this helps

I have a S40 2.0 T sport and love it, it has 163hp compared to 200hp for a T4 but it goes like a rocket on kickdown!!
Shame the new volvos don't look as good as the old shapes....
