Default Name that part!

My OH had a bit of a bump this morning. His V40 has a crack at either side of the bumper near the headlights. It has bent the headlights up and back abit. What is the name of the bar that will have been bent? Cant remember and need to find a new bit before MOT.

Front crossmember?

If it's just a light shunt/tap I'd be tempted to remove it and bend it back into place personally. Failing that ring a few local breakers see if they've got any V40 / S40's in and have a nosey.

Good luck!

most people call it the front crossmember. its attached by 4 bolts, 2 either side of the main chassis way underneath.. its listed in parts cataloges as bumber hanger. my local panel supplier does them for £38. easy job to replace to. i would not advise breakers for this piece as it provides some serious spread of impact. old ones tend to be very rusty... be warned.. the headlights are mounted on very weak panels themselves and these may also have got twisted... Volvo dealer only at £28 each. need welding into place.
