As above the T4 is the same displacement as the T5 minus one of its cylinders. Also due to smaller displacement it has a smaller turbo charger.

You can't get the T5 in a "classic" S40/V40 up to 2004, although there is a T5 in the new shape 2004-on cars. There have been several different variants of the T5 engine and AFAIK at least two T4s so it's not a straightforward question to answer.

Are you asking for differences between the T5 and T4 in general or are you looking specifically at the differences in the S40/V40/V50?

Cheers,
John

T4 is more fun.

At the time before i bought the T4 i test drove 2 S40 T5's they were ok but overall the S40 T4 impressed me much more and had a better get up and go. Although someone will come on and say that about the T5 just how I felt about it.
