Hi Distendo

What is the part number on your injectors?

That might let me look at injectors that I've got so I can understand better.

Steve

You're right about Skandix, but at the moment they're charging a lot less for the solvent than I can find from UK suppliers. Plus I need something else I haven't found (yet) in the UK, so the p&p gets combined. In many ways, this is as far as £££ is concerned, 'suck it up' time.

Injectors part no: 9454557 (prev. 1270534)

Hi Distendo

OK those injectors are the same as Bosch 0280155766 (or 0280 155 766).
They are available new, used or remanufatured. (And I have some used).

The "copper" pintle that you mention is probably something like the red/orange fibreglass that was used for old style circuit boards. It is strong but could break.

The remanufatured injectors all seem to have the white pintles, so that must be what they use if they rebuild.

How many injectors do you have?

Rather than spend more time and money removing the stubborn ones, if you have sufficient spares, can you remove one and see what happens?

Ideally I suppose you would fit a set of injectors that have been flow matched, but that costs a bit. I haven't done it myself.

Hope that helps,
Steve

Hello Steve

Thanks for the observations.

I'm currently squirting 'B'laster' (https://blastercorp.com/product/pb-blaster-penetrant/ very American presentation ) at intervals into the injectors (from above - I have no idea what it'd do if it was sprayed onto the nozzles), and will see if anything gives.

I'll have to remove the stuck pintle from the manifold somehow (small screwdriver and a small-ish hammer I guess), and if the pintle is damaged and can't be reliably replaced, I'll replace that injector with one of my 'spares' (I have 3).

The remaining four injectors I'm thinking of just leaving in place. The seals appear still pliable, so maybe just give in gracefully on those. At least if there's trouble it's not a matter of dismantling the entire top end...

Cheers!
