Build Date
Hi all, I was wondering how long it was until Volvo gave you a build date?
When I was in initial discussions with the dealer I was told it would take about six weeks to build, once I placed the order this then changed to anything up to six months!! It’s a month in and I still haven’t got a build week, I haven’t bought a factory build before so please excuse my ignorance if it’s a silly question. It’s a V60 if that helps. Thank you! It’s kind of what I was expecting, I just have a sneaking suspicion that the dealer is stringing me a line, they were very insistent I took one of their stock cars, once I told them that I really wanted the car in the spec I wanted the lead time jumped to six months!

The dealer might, therefore, have been overstocked due to the challenging market right now and keen to reduce their stockholding and consequent financial commitment. That, however, shouldn’t be your problem to solve. A deal could have been done, but only if what they were offering was something that you wanted, and only if the price was right for you. |

I ordered mine on 13th July and dealer told me up front that it would be a factory order and approx three months but hopefully sooner. I get weekly updates from my Dealership, which incidentally i have said not to worry about doing so but without fail every Thursday i get an email. It tells me the current order status and delivery date which remains the same date since the initial update and that is the 3rd October. Ive ordered a V60 R-Design only options Smartphone/rear camera and spare wheel. Only downside apart from waiting is now having major concerns that I've chosen the wrong bloody colour.

Mines got a date now, delivery on the 23rd November, ordered it the middle of August, so around a 3 month wait.
What colour did you go for? I ordered it in Pine Grey, then had a little wobble a couple of weeks ago, but having seen one in that colour I am now happy with my choice - fingers crossed!! |

My V60 inscription
I ordered my V60 in denim blue late July and was initially given 3 October as the likely delivery date. My dealer (Perth Volvo), has kept me updated and e mailed to tell me yesterday that the car left the factory on Tuesday and should be with them next week. If all keeps to plan I will collect it on Saturday 28 Sep or Monday 30 Sep.

I saw the red in another dealership which looked amazing against the black of the r- design but personally what put me off was looking at the rear and size of the lights, it was just too much. Ive seen pics of bursting blue but not nothing in the flesh

Bursting blue is a great colour, I don't think you will be disappointed!
Was going to go for that, but with the extras I put on it would of put me over the £40K mark. I thought the same with the red as I thought that the lights would get lost in the colour, but from the front it looks great. I am most excited by the R Design Interior especially the seats they were great on my test drive! You don't see the colour when you are in the car so I don't think we will be disappointed when we get in them! |
