XC60 T8 Polestar Engineered First Drives
Just seen on Youtube that the XC60 T8 Polestar Engineered has had its official release and first drives in North America (Late Aug/Early Sept), I was starting to loose enthusiasm during the long, long wait but after watching the videos, I'm now getting excited again!!!
December is still some way off (due delivery date for my Polestar Engineered) but its getting closer and closer and now I'm really keen to get there. Anyone watched these first drives and any thoughts/comments? |

Generally favourable from what i have watched, although surprised no full reviews yet to appear, main points I have taken are...
Acceleration stronger than the Audi SQ5 Dampers - Suspension seems to be hard with the 22's, even on the softer adjusted settings. Range of 18 - 20 miles on the battery alone which suits my commute just fine. Torque steer seems to be apparent due to the amount of power delivered at the front versus what the electric rear motors deliver. Interesting that models have already started to land in the UK with 2 for sale already on Autotrader. Not sure If I have made the right decision on the Black colour on my order |

I'm in agreement on the colour, I ordered a black one too but seeing the white one on the videos made me question my colour choice,
Hopefully when it arrives, it will look just as good as I hope it will. You gotta expect some torque steer when trying to put 330bhp through the front wheels, especially without a Limited Slip Diff installed. I went for the 21" wheels so should have the really stiff ride but when I test drove the R-Design Pro T8 on air, I did find it to be far too soft feeling for my own personal taste (having previously owned AMG's and Audi RS vehicles) so the Ohlins dampers should give the body control and composure im looking for. Roll on December (or earlier if the production speed up any). |

Just looked at the 2 for sale on Autotrader (the black one does look as good as I was hoping it would) and spotted an interesting point, the black one has a statement '1 of 50'. Have Volvo capped the UK allocation of Polestar Engineered XC60's to only 50 cars?

Another one has also popped onto AT, maybe these are cancelled orders as people get fed up waiting! |
