sensus map down load problem
I have a Volvo V90 T4 R line just acquired, 1 year old. I need to update the W. Europe maps [2.5GB] to the latest edition.I have followed all the Volvo web site instructions, downloading the maps onto a 125GB USB from Windows computer. Inserted into port in car. tried for two days to down load leaving the USB connected . Only on one occasion did a message say downloading during a 15 minute drive all other occasions the message says "mapping busy please try later" Im also new to the forums and would appreciate any help or suggestions thank you. MRW

Out of interest where are the map files downloaded from?
I'd assumed they'd be pushed over-the-air by Volvo |

choose your system and follow the instructions , you need a 64gb USB memory stick , download direct to the USB for max reliability , and go back to the start page to verify the files on the stick before you try them in the car ... https://www.volvocars.com/uk/support/downloads/maps

I see.
And is there any advantage in downloading just the area you need rather than the entire continent? |

There is no disadvantage in getting the full map , it takes about 50 minutes to load into the car and you can stop and park up and it continues when you set off again .

Many thanks for the responses. I down loaded the w.Europe map from the Volvo web site
I noticed that there were also updates available for some of the apps [Google etc] whilst these were down loading it seemed to prevent the mapping being uploaded. Thus the mapping busy notification. I stopped the down loading of the apps. and re inserted the usb back in and the updated maps started downloading straight away. It took 30 minutes seems the system cant cope with auto app updates and updating maps at the same time. Im no expert by any means but that's all I can assume was the problem. Thanks for replies posted MRW |
