Exclamation S40 2.0D '07 Randomly goes to max RPM while driving

Hello guys,

Recently I have started driving Volvo S40 2.0D 2007, car is awesome, really steady driving, shifting gear stick is one of the most comfortable and easiest to use I have ever seen, but only one problem... As I said in the title, recently while I'm driving it would randomly by himself just jump to 6,000 RPM and be there for few seconds and go back to normal. First few times I was scared so much that I had to stop and take few minutes, like to give a car some time to goes back to normal if its needed, but now it's like fifth time that happened and I just keep driving it and everything goes fine. I have heard that might be something to do with DPF Filter but I am not sure and do not want to trust only for one thing... Kind of want to investigate all possible options what it could be and little bit scared that it might cause an engine blow-up or some kind of failure in it... Anyone have any experience with this kind of problem?

Thank you very much, appreciate Volvo

Could be worth checking if your turbo seals are on the way out, you'd be lucky if it is and only revving for a few seconds
