Default Turbo problem

Hi all, I am in biddulph, nr congleton. My nearest independent in Stoke wants to charge me £40 to read the codes to identify the loss of power and service light coming on ( turbo problem I think) then charge me £60 per hour to work on it which, for an independent i think is quite steep. Anyone local to me to firstly help diagnose, then to recommend a good independent? Sorry, newbie to all this. Car is 2005 xc90 D5 auto

Thanks

Happy to donate a 4 pack of Stella for the code read and reset

Hello to all. Some months ago I left my car by an official Volvo dealer for a oil change and a check and after that I took the car the AC system no ran longer. They told me that it was necessary to change "a control module" (?) for about £ 500/600. After some searches a honest car electrician found that a fuse was disappeared from the fuse box! Not fused but disappeared! Since in no forum I read about fuses that can evaporate completely, I don't trust more of them. Of course I shall not return there, but others not always can read diagnostic codes. So, do you know if there is an ODB or canbus scanner suitable for the 2001 V40 1.9D 85kW D4192T3? I have strange simultaneous problems in the electrical system and I'm sure that the official Volvo dealer will ask me a lot of money to replace the CEM, even if the issue should be a relay or a fuse. Thanks and regards, Luca

Luca,

Before I got the Icarsoft i906 hand held unit, I used my Galaxy S5 Android Smartphone with an App called TORQUE and a cheap £5;00 Bluetooth (Or wi fi) Dongle. That read MOST codes but not all.

It's a cheap try, might work.

Joe.
