Default I know nothing!

My wife wants to get a P1800 as her every day car. I know very little if anything about these cars and would like to get some insider tips and knowledge. I would be looking at making it a bit modernised with a "proper" stereo and CD changer, handsfree kit and so I would not be looking at buying a showroom condition car, but a good, solid runner. Questions:

Did they have disc brakes all round?
Did they all have overdrive?
What engines where there? Which one is the best?
They often seem to have some rust, is this expensive to have fixed?

George

Gotta hand it to you George, as soon as you fix one car, you start on another! Seriously,Karl Malberg has a really good site for P1800 enthusiasts, lots of pictures and a buy/sell forum, some of the cars are in the UK, I think you're in Belgium but if you came this far for the Ebay 740 then an 1800 will be definately worth it. ( less car to rebuild! ) check out - http://volvo1800pictures.com/index.html - this is another useful site - http://www.volvo1800.f9.co.uk/index.htm
