Angry '06 volvo c70 18" tires

The original Pirelli P Rosso summer tires that wore out at 7,200 miles were replaced with Michelin Pilot Sport AS (all season) in the same size. They were not as wide and did not provide shoulder protection for the wheel rims which lead to the edges getting chewed up. Now after 22,000 miles the center of the Michelins are shot. I would like to get a good, quiet, all weather tires that fit and protect the wheels. What have others used as replacements?

Cant' help with tyre recomendation as I have not long bought my V70 , but if your tyre centers are shot after only 22,000 miles it sounds like you are either running the wrong tyre pressures (to high) or you drive extremely hard

My personal favourite is the UniRoyal Rainsport2 - just bought my third set of these (for 3 different cars). These have the rim protection ridge in the tyre, are reasonably quiet and have the best wet weather grip and rain clearance I've come across. Pretty useful in the dry too.

Others to be considered are the Continental SportContact and Vredestein SportTrac. Both are good tyres.

Thank you. Neither is true. The Pirelli's were shot at 7,200 and the dealer has confirmed that I do not over inflate.
