Just testing the waters here.

Im considering getting rid of my T5 due to a pay cut.

Just wondering how much these go for?

Its a 1996 850 GLT estate in black.
140k
Everything works how it should.
Has a bit of an oil leak.
But otherwise the car is immaculate, no scratches, dents or rust.
No T&T so I guess its sold as spares or repairs.

Would I get £600 - £700 for it?

Personally I think its worth more,
coz I know it would fly through an MOT.
But you dont think that when your buying do you?

For a car without MOT, most people will only pay scrap value. A car isn't really a car without an MOT.

I think you'd enhance its value a lot by getting it through the test, which like you say should be easy!

Its gonna be hard to find even £50 at the minute...lol.
And theres the problem of getting it there.
I have no trailer.
Whats scrap value on one of these?
Anyone ever scrapped 1 or sold 1 for spares or repairs?

You are allowed to drive to (and back from) an authorised MoT test station for the purpose of a test as long as the vehicle is insured.

Get that MoT... it will make the car an attractive proposition and saleable.

Scrap value... £100 - £150 on a good day.

Do you want the hassle of a hulk gradually degenerating into a mess of rust in the corner of your garden? And then your chances of getting a scrappy to take it away are reduced as well.

Put up a few pictures... it might make a project for somebody if it's as 'clean' as you say. A clean before you do that will add to the value and won't cost you anything.

And the MOT test has to be booked in advance, otherwise you could just be driving around the countryside and when stopped by a policeman give the (false) excuse that you were on the way to an MOT station. Book the MOT and ensure that they take a note of your registration number.

You know the answer to that one, don't you?....

Without T&T and an unspecified oil leak, as it stands it's no more than £200 worth of scrap steel. If you want any more for it, stick an MOT on it.

Is this car a manual or auto? If it's a manual, I'll give you £250
