262C Bertone for sale - 500 Euro's!
Hello!
New to this forum, and probably my first & last post - I have an Alfa Romeo 166, and scouring ebay Italy, ebay France etc for spares for for my Alfa Romeo 166 (some now unavailable here) I stumbled across this which I thought may interest 262C Coupe enthusiasts here: https://www.ebay.it/itm/Volvo-262-c-...gAAOSwSDxecMxi ...being an Italian car fanatic I've always had a huge soft-spot for these lovely & rare Bertone-designed Volvo Coupes. This one is non-working & "exposed to water for about 10 years". Sad to see it in such a sorry state.... but what a bargain. Certainly a brave punt for restoration! |

That's a pretty scathing assumption? I know the "exposed to water" phrase might be scary but it could potentially be tanslated as "lived outdoors in all weather" for that time.
I don't understand Italian well enough to translate but knowing how Italians often phrase things, that could very well be the case. According to the listing and what little i can translate, it was bought from France and seems to have been neglected rather than anything else. Shame the handlebars are on the wrong side really............

That 262c would look great in the front garden (although the neighbours might disagree). Here are some more old Volvos that have been exposed to water:

It may look a whole lot better with a good clean! It seems complete (apart from the grille?) but may only need recomissioning and some paintwork.
Maybe i'm just too optimistic....................
