V40 1.6 PSA coolant type
Hello.
I'm going to replace the coolant fluid on my D2 PSA powered engine. The owner's manual doesn't state the type and only reports the quantity (10L). Looking at the colour it seems a "green/blue" type. I've been told that Glysantin (Basf) prodouces it for Volvo and the specific version for PSA engines is the G48. Yet, according to Glysantin website, they declare for all Volvo engine the G64. In the past they referred to the G48 for Volvo. The G64 appears to be "green", while the G48 seems to be a "green/blu" type. Now I noticed that current Volvo antifreeze (product number 31439720 1L / 31439721 4L) is "green" and replaces the old type (9437650 1L / 9437651 4L) that was "green/blu". I'm not sure but VEA engines use the "green" version... shall I go with OEM Volvo/Glysantin G64 or better use the any G48 compatible coolant? Thanks. |
