K&n filters on twin sus hs6
Is anyone running these filters on twin sus, I’m thinking of having my carbs rebuilt with these but would like some vibes if it’s a good idea. The carb man certainly think it’s a no brainer compared to the pancake filter box. Apart from the box being unsightly (in my opinion). Im all up for a little more poke.

Box may be unsightly but it flows better, filters better and is quieter, especially if you have the correct nozzle on it. K&N very expensive and need to be oiled. The big blue Volvo ones are not as expensive and filter more consistently.

Not the best pictures, but on my MGA, I'm running the set up on the right with H6 carbs.
Velocity stacks for the HS6 carbs: K & N Air Filter #RU-4410 I bought the setup from namvet6970 here. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Alum-Velo...-/202038206635 Air filters slide on and off with a turn of one screw. I'm sure it would work just fine on the Volvo. Last edited by blueosprey90; Sep 18th, 2018 at 04:00. |

I've got a K & N inside the pancake filter box. Fits about perfectly.
I can't remember the part number but I seem to remember K&N had/have an excellent facility where you can search by dimensions.

I was looking to get rid of the pancake box all together. I’ve heard the K&n can be noisy but are said to perform better allowing greater airflow.

Use the box and add an extension tube tube to pick up clean cold air from just behind the grill. That's what I have done on the 144. Not very elegant at the moment. looking for a smooth bore flex tube with the correct dimension
