Default Running boards / side steps.

In a nutshell, yes. Same part number from inception to date. Not the best time of year to be fitting them unless you can do it undercover.

Good luck!
Bob.

I thought that the R-Design couldn't have the sidesteps because the "scuff plate" or whatever they call the silver trim down the sills, interfered with it.
I'm no authority on this by any means though.

Running Boards can be fitted to an R-Design BUT you wd need to fit longer bolts and spacers so that the boards clear the scuff plate.

Out of interest, I watched a set of sidesteps on fleabey (not original Volvo parts) - the small print stated that the steps replaced the existing plastic sill mouldings.

Do the Volvo ones do this or are they additional to the sill moulding, as they seem to protrude more?

The Volvo steps are completely seperate from the sill mouldings and don't touch any of its mounting points either. They pick up the front and rear sub frame/suspension (I think) mountings underneath.

The ones you mention sound more like X5 steps !!
