Default Addind Additional Caravan Socket

Probably been covered before. However does anyone know if you can buy the additional connector, cable and socket to add to the existing Volvo towing module. Our XC90 has the black socket but not the grey. Genuine Volvo module.

If its can be done for around £20 I would consider doing it. Otherwise will just stick with the black plug.

Thanks,

Rob.

If you've got a Volvo socket I would expect it is 13 pin which already includes the supplimentary wiring. If you just wanted to break it out to 2x 7 pin sockets then you could an adapter like this: http://www.towsure.com/product/Purat...productdetails

Volvo stopped using the twin sockets some years ago , the car should have a 13 pin socket now, and if your caravan has twin plugs there is an adapter available , 13 pin to two seven pins ..

Its definitely got the 7 pin black plug as I use it for my trailer. Just need to know if I can add the auxiliary socket.

I don't know if the wiring for the 12S socket will have been fitted with your current trailer module it was an option as its shown on the wiring diagrams.

But you can certainly add a 12S socket using one of these electronic self switching modules.
