For those of us up here in darkest deepest Scotland, Lochside Motors on the Parkhill Road do all my servicing and non warranty work. Theyre not a specialist Volvo but have serviced a variety of my cars over the years from my s60 d5 through to my Mitsi 3000gt!! They also do my mates impreza turbo. Ok it doesnt get the wash and hoover that it would from main stealer but then he's less then half the price of them for a service!!!

They are about 5 miles from me. Has anyone used them?

Any other recommendations in north Manchester/Salford?

they did the cambelt on my 99' V40 last year.

my only comments are in they invoice they stated my dark green car was white and the parts used were tensioner volvo S40 and timing belt volvo C70 2.4.

done 8k since with no problems, prices seem good as well.

Default Volvo Servicing/Repairs in Southampton.

Hi all, yesterday (7th Feb 2009) I had my 1999 S80 2.4 SE (170bhp) have its 110'000 mile service, cam-belt change and MOT'd. The work was carried out by South Hants Garage Services based at Empress road in Southampton.

From first contact up until driving my car away when the work was completed they were never less than 100% professional. I liased with one of the 2 owners, Ian Faulkner who before the work was carried out quoted me £420 for service MOT and cambelt.

All that was needed to pass the MOT was a bulb for the rear numberplate, and whilst the service was being carried out the mechanic recomended the fan belt and tensioners needed replacing, which was duly done.

The final bill was £417.22, a good £150 less than i'd been quoted by Kings, the local franchised dealer.

I took the car out for a good run today and although it was running fine before it does seem to be noticeably tauter, and smoother.

A url for the garage is included below.

What if a garage used to be good when it was added to the list, but since went downhill?

I ask this question because there is a garage I used to use that I went to on a recommendation. They used to do a really good, honest job at very competitive prices. However they have since took on two new mechanics, and nowadays I wouldn't trust them as far as could throw them. They are certainly never getting their hands on my new (old) 940.

Bhowani junior is "looking" at car at A38 Direct in Nottingham. Apart from the growing habit of putting 1 mile as the recorded mileage, which forces you to ring them to find out (!) would anybody care to share an opinion on this concern.

Any comments via PM please as I wouldn't get legal aid!

Thanks

Just had some work done on mine at Volmech in Stockton, Cleveland. Staff were very helpful and approachable and work seems top notch.

Sheffield & Merredith in Leicester. Nice, friendly and knowledgable. I used them with my old V70 and they had the "new" V70 II in.
I would trust them more than the local Volvo franchise in Leicester. Unfortunately they - Volvo OEM - have build a monopoly on certain services with the new range of software / computer cars now.
