Question Drivers side door seal

My drivers side door seal is split. It's the one on the left hand side, i.e. the door lock side. I imagine that Volvo will charge a fortune to replace it. Does anyone know if there any 'cheap' places to buy one? How does it come off anyway?, I do not want to force it off but I suspect it only clips on. I could put some rubber glue or something like as a temp fix.

Thanks

Brian

Can you take a photo please?

If it's the one I'm thinking of (the one the door closes onto) I had the same issue. I found the part number and got a genuine Volvo one for around £20.

I then noticed the same thing starting to happen on the passenger side, I wanted to see if there was a cheaper alternative and I found a tip from a forum member about using roof and gutter sealant on the inside and this fixes it, I did that and the passenger side seal has been fine ever since, so you could try that if you don't want to spend the £20?

The sealant cost me about £3 off eBay, something like this will do: https://www.screwfix.com/p/no-nonsen...ck-310ml/67521

Thanks for your reply. Yes, it is the one the door closes onto. I will contact Volvo and seen what they say. Does it just unclip?

You just pull it out with your hands, it sort of pushes onto the metal ridge, you'll see what I mean if you start pulling it off.

F.y.i I got the official rubber bit off the internet, but a genuine Volvo part rather than directly to Volvo themselves, so I don't know what the price is going to be directly from them.

Best of luck!

Thanks, I don't suppose you can remember where you got it from? I have looked all over the internet but cannot find anything.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-V...26.m2548.l4275 - Need to specify when you buy it what side you want.

The part is 30661315 for the drivers side (check this diagram).

So where we talking about different seals? I know it's a bit confusing but this seal sits on the "front" of the rear door, if that makes sense? It is the seal that the front door closes onto when you shut it.

Yeah that is the right seal, exactly where mine starting going too.

The seal is actually physically attached to the rear door assembly, so the one I linked to is correct.

Just ask the seller for the driver's side one on that listing.
