Turbo Questions Garrett M27
I have been searching hi and low for the answer and don't seems to solve my questions. I have lined up 2 turbos for my projects, both are the M27 Garrett turbo, no idea where car it came from but after some search make me believe they could be off the 740/940s?
Can anyone tell me more info about these turbos : - 1) Rectangular Flange with rectangular exhaust gas inlet, A/R (intake housing) .51, Exhaust housing A/R unknown yet. Irregular shape (but close to rectangular) exhaust side 4 threaded holes to bolt the down pipe. Label reads : 756875-78518 H6210002A 2) Rectangular Flange with round hole exhaust gas inlet, A/R (intake housing) .51, Exhaust housing A/R .46. Round exhaust side with 3 threaded holes to bolt the down pipe. Label reads : 727262 -7818 HC10043A Can any ones tell me what car model and year they are from? Are they t25/ T3? What pressure the actuator opens? Any help would be much appreciated. Last edited by gary_yuen42; Mar 12th, 2006 at 01:27. |

They appear to be missing the matching stub from the irregular opening to the downpipe. The downpipe is usually attached by triangular bolt pattern clamp. The label should tell you what type of turbo they are. There should be an AirResearch label on the compressor outlet (snail shaped end) which details the compressor wheel size and rating. You would really need to compare them with a "Volvo" turbo unit to be sure. They should also be adjustable for low-pressure or normal pressure use. The turbos fitted to the diesel engine (D24) will allow up to 17.5 psi which is greater than the normal pressure turbo rated at about 9psi. and the LPT at 4psi. As shown in the picture they will not designed to fit a Volvo manifold.
All the best, Peter. |
