V50 throttle module
My 06 v50 d5 lost power in the recent snow and i thought it was the dstc system, but the power has not returned now the snow has disapeared. i took it to get the computer read and it said "throttle module" error. Any ideas how to remedy this as my car is VERY slow. thanks

I have had ongoing errors with my 04 S40 and throttle error readouts
ECM-2122 Acclerator pedal position sensor, circuit 1. Signal too low ECM-2008 Throttle system. Faulty signal ECM-2138 Acclerator pedal position sensor. Faulty signal ECM-2121 Acclerator pedal position sensor, circuit 1. Faulty signal It seems there are 3 areas where sensors send/receive signals that regulate the engine 'speed'. A sensor on the acc pedal itself, one in the front engine bay and the main ecu unit itself. Replacing the pedal cost me just under £200 before christmas with diagnostics etc - and stopped errors relating to the pedal. However, the mechanic advised me that he was still getting irregular voltages/readings from other related sensors from the main ecu itself. He removed it and tried to check it out, unfortunately, the main 2 circuit boards are wafered very closely together and he was unable to get at components he wanted too. Result was he soldered/cleaned the bits he was able to get access to - but is concerned that this is going to be an issue eventually and it is a dealer fix only!! The car runs well and has run well even with the codes - albeit you can feel a slight hesitancy at times when accelerating - nothing like others have had, and, touch wood no 'limp home' mode. The downside is the main 'brain' is over £500 and has to be fitted by Volvo as they have to reprogram the software - software they will not allow indepedents access too!! Total cost is about £1000 he guessed. I'm putting it off at the moment because the car drives 98% OK - I hope your problem is solved by the two cheaper routes [£100-£200] and isn't the biggy. Homer |
