Default ARGHHHH Major AirCo Problem

Hey All,

Very strange and scary thing happen this morning. Got in the car (440 '96 1.8i) waited for a few secs and then turned on thwe airco to clear the screen. I was chatting with the other guy in the car about work so I didn't notice at first but nothing happened. The blue light in the switch went on, the blower started, but no click and no airco (and no demisted screen). Turned it off and on, about 4 or 5 times, again but agin nothing. Then aftre 20 mins or so it started working again. It seems to be fine now but any idea what the hell caused this?

Cheers

Stu

Might be the control unit in the dash just wearing out.

Had the same problem on my 440 2.0i SE. Seemed to cure itself after a few weeks.

Cheers,
Dan.

I'll have to see hgow it goes then.

It cured itself as said before, worked on the way home, even worked the next morning thr first time taht I tried it. Unfortunately not the second.(Working again now though....)

Are these boxes expensive? (I guess that's a big yes....) and are they easy to fit or is it a garage job?

Cheers

Stu
