poor running p1800 1871
Hi,
Is there anyone in the Stalybridge area north west who fancyies trying to get my p1800 e to run well happy to pay for your time. Just spent a decent sum of money for it to run 3-4 day then switch to misfiring and getting fuel in the oil. AHHHHH been months not running right. appears this injection system just baffles most garages. |

Check for possibly a leaking Cold Start Injector. See also: http://www.sw-em.com/bosch_d-jetroni..._fault_tracing Good Hunting! |

An older Mercedes mechanic should be familiar with the system. They used it.

I'm with Ron. Those cold start injectors will dribble away until you lose your mind.
D-jet isn't too hard..this book explains things really clearly. A methodical approach to the various parts will soon have your car running sweetly. Good luck.

Could be because the car pre-dates most internal combustion engine development.....

I agree a Hot-Start is not best accommodated (this was later improved with the Thermo-Timer Switch which controlled CSI based in-part on also a thermal input), and Injectors are generally very reliable, but I have heard of leaky CSI and that is what symptoms are pointing to... Cheers |

Thanks all
Looks like it was the cold start now running fine without it.
