Default 1967 to '68 1800s Chassis or Vin Numbers

Will be going to take a look at a 1967 1800s soon and looking for help to find chassis serial numbers in different areas on the body.

I am aware of the location of the chassis number of the 1800s 1967 to '69 US market cars just behind the battery. Have also seen a photo of the area behind the rear seat fitted with a vertical plate. Have also heard of third plate described as being on the drivers side door hinge pillar or in the inner kick panel area.

Do these plates carry the chassis number or the one the body plate under the bonnet? Does anyone know the exact location of the plate on or near the door pillar if there is in fact one?

Any other locations of chassis numbers that you are aware of on 1800s cars? Thanks in advance for your help.

Can anyone comment on other areas of the car where the chassis number can be found. Most all vehicles have it in another out of the way location in case the car is stolen and the numbers are changed so the real car ID can be found.

I never knew/heard that about our vintage Volvos...I know pretty sure not true with my '62 Amazon.
And, with the armored ignition cable, they hardly hardly ever got stolen back then😉

Car show tomorrow 10A-2P @Harpoon Brewery Windsor VT...I'll be there with Little Grreenie and my stein.
See you there?
