Default Vredestein Quadrac 5

I'm replacing all four tyres, but have an unexpected wear issue.

I did think the fronts would wear more, however they are pretty good, but both rears have competely worn out on their outer shoulders, so much so that the outer shoulder sipes have been worn smooth.

I thought as CX90s are front wheel drive most of the time, front-heavy, steering etc, the the fronts would suffer most. So something is amiss).

So am I right in thinking this is an alignment (tracking?) issue at the rear which I need the fitters to fix first, and that would stop me ruining another set? Or do I need to get them to check something else too?

I am going to try a set of All Season Vredestein Quadrac 5 (x4) size: 275/40 20R. (We live in rural Dorset).

The other tyres were fitted new on the car (by the dealer) when I bought it in September, so the rears have not lasted long. 'Austone Athena SP303', [harsh ride]). But the Vredestein's are certainly not cheap so I need to get everything set up correctly first.

Cheers.

You are probably right about some kind of alignment problem, get it sorted first, ideally by whoever fits your new tyres, then any continuing problem is theirs.

Ive recently had issues at kwik-fit, gosh who'd have thought it, they are bending over backwards to make everything right. Again.

Vreds are excellent rubber. Had some in the past, know people who swear by them and wont buy anything else.
Ive got michelin crossclimates, they are excellent, a quiet and smooth drive with a soft feel, I imagine that the Vreds will fell sharper.
I read that the latest goodyear all season is also highly rated
Choice is yours.

FInd a trusty tyre garage with a Hunter 4 Wheel laser alignment machine and get them to fit the tyres and align it correctly, not just tracking, full 4 wheel alignment. Expect to pay £60-£70, plus any residential/dealer premium for your desired location..

It will save your tyres in the long run so well worth it everytime you put a new set on or bash the wheels anywhere.

There is a picture of my RS6 getting it done recently in my signature link below

Agree with this, I did this recently with my XC and if found it was out in a few places.
