If you have purchased through the selekt programme hopefully you highlighted it within the 30 day exchange window. New is slightly different and you can declare the vehicle unfit for intended use up to 6 months I believe, again as long as you have identified the faults through the dealer you purchased from.

As far as fixing it is concerned you have to give the dealer reasonable opportunity to resolve the problem. After which if you are still unhappy you are well within your rights to back the vehicle.

There is a negative side to it though, the dealer will reduce the money offered back to you due to "normal wear and tear and fair use" policies as well as the normal book drops. However Volvo were extremely helpful in this and personally offered me top money for it and gave me as much off as possible on the new one as it was a higher spec and newer......BMW was a different story and I had no pants to pull down as they had them all

Hope this helps and good luck, let us know how it goes
If it gets to this and you do end up getting a new car offered at a discount, I would also suggest, that you get a price for a new vehicle from CarWow and compare it with what the dealership offer you.

The level of discount CarWow can offer you can very often exceed 13%.

Using the normal sales set-up of (ie: Sales Director; Sales Manager; Salesman) in a dealership, generally ends up with gradually rising discounts up to a 13% maximum agreed by the Sales Director. Lower level staff won't have the power to grant this level of discount and would 'have to go upstairs'.

Volvo Poole have some new cars for sale at discounts of around 17% but only through their participation with CarWow deals, which, as I say, are outside a dealerships normal selling discount practices.

Oh, and when you talk to the Dealership:

1. Take a witness to confirm what they say (or said) to you

2. Get what they say (or said) to you properly confirmed in writing.
