Clearly the chap needs to have a word with himself, it's a gorgeous motor!!
I had a similar thing with a car i bought Phil. There was just something i couldn't take to about the car, it looked good, went fine, had some desirable options from the factory (with the original build sheet to prove!) had been resprayed under warranty at 5 years old so to all intents and purposes, was an excellent car.

Just didn't do it for me though.

I had similar with a 2003 Merc C220CDI saloon I owned a couple years ago. Looked beautiful in azure blue metallic, gorgeous alloys, full leather, great 722.6 auto box and lovely pokey motor which would do 50mpg on a run.

I drove Mercs for years on end and have always liked them, but I couldn't warm to that car at all. It felt sort of flimsy, which is weird to say about a Merc, but I never felt like I could totally rely on it for some reason. I was delighted to sell it and buy my old 740, it may have been thirteen years older but I never doubted it's reliability for a second.

Back in 2003 i drove a few Mercs including a CLK320 - 3.2 convertable job with the metal roof that folded back into the boot space. Similar colour to yours i think, not sure if Azure Blue is similar to the Volvo Dark Blue metallic as per my avatar but that's what colour it was.
Hated it - thankfully it wasn't mine so i was able to give it back at the end of the day and was glad to get into my 5 year old Daewoo.
I've driven older Mercs and they felt totally different, more like a Volvo but German.

This CLK felt flimsy, had acres of plastic on the inside and felt anaesthetised with the traction and suspension control on, wasn't much better when i turned them off but it was better.
Put me off modern Mercs for life but i'd gladly have an older one, somewhere between 1970-1990 vintage.

I see the price has gone up by £300 too, wonder if he was just intending to try and make some money on it.
