DAB Plus

As you probably know some stations are turning off DAB and going plus only.

My 2014 S80 has DAB, does anyone know if it is able to pick up DAB plus? Not sure if the version of senses matters but it doesn’t have the globe button so isn’t a connected car.

Im sure I’ll figure it out in the next day or so when I go have a play but just incase someone knows off hand.

The handbook for a 2016 V60 ( old model) says DAB+ compatible, we are waiting for next week when the DAB stations change over to see if it works, If not I guess a software update will enable it.

As an aside, it's interesting that Classic FM are advertising this quite extensively, and advising their DAB listeners simply to switch to an FM receiver once their signal goes DAB Plus next week.

My V70 does have a DAB radio, but the signal is so hit-and-miss that I gave up on trying to use it at all, and now only ever listen via FM.

This is very interesting. I drive a very old S80 with only FM, but for years I've used a Pure Highway (also known as Alpine EZI DAB) that I had professionally installed. It's been hit and miss and terribly frustrating at times. It came with a screen aerial which is all it has. I've no experience with newer cars with integrated DAB radio, so I've always wondered if people with these cars were suffering like I was!

Well today as classic FM have moved to DAB plus I tuned in and my 2014 S80 picks it up no problem with the well spoken lady confirming I was listening on DAB plus. So that’s a little win right there.
