Literally just finished doing it again. The hard bit can be the torx screws holding the electric actuator on the back of the caliper. I have changed the screws and the seal today on both of mine - Volvo part number 30681857 "service set" for one side - then wind in the actuator revealed clockwise (on both sides) using an allen key in a socket. Sorry, can't remember the exact sizes... When all is reassembled, cycle the parking brake button on/off three times and all is done. Simples

Still don't understand what your problem is using VIDA? Took about 10 second when I did it a few years back, on the same car as well. I'm wondering if VOlvo did a software update on the car and it is now not compatible with my version of VIDA. Found a brilliant independent garage that reset them for 44gbp, so we are now not scrapping the car.
