Interesting, my C70 T5 had 225 45's, I thought that was stock size?
I did run 205 40 on my 17" Canopus wheels but they were like rubber bands. https://i.imgur.com/s9Rq3TQ.jpg (Same wheels on my 940) |

I shall be swapping my tyres soon. Currently it has on it tyres I inherited from the P/O. They are 3 X Windforce and 1 X Delinte. Never heard of either make but guess they're cheapo ditch finders .
I'll probs go for all-season, I've got Nexens on my ph2 V70 and they've been good, tho' getting to end time too now. It's gonna be pricey

I have toyo t1r's on my mx5, they are great in the dry but hopeless in the wet.
Avon ZZ3's were great but I burned through the fronts in about 3,000 miles. Goodyear eagle F1's have been very good in the dry and wet and are lasting a long time. Kaiser kenda's were quite good, lasted a long time and were fine in the wet and dry (although the name sounds like they ought to be ditch finders). Falken FK 452's were ok grip wise but they consistently kept losing tyre pressure (we had the same issue on 2 separate cars where both would lose about 10psi a week which was quite annoying). Dunlop Sport maxx were very good in the dry but not brilliant in the wet. One thing to watch for is if you replace all 4 at once the rears will, obviously, last a lot longer than the fronts. I have had to bin rear tyres due to age and starting to crack. If you are doing fairly low mileage each year it makes sense to maybe rotate fronts to backs once a year. Going forward I go for Goodyear Eagle F1's for the volvo due to the balance on price/grip/lasting power. Tyres depend on what you want. If you want something that lasts forever then a hard compound budget such as the kenda will do. If you want more grip then you will pay more and get less longevity.

Longevity isn't really an issue, performance is key here, but obviously I don't want to be throwing a new set at it every 3k. But then I'm not going to be leaning on the throttle at every given opportunity either so they won't take a pounding.
Thanks for the recommendation guys, I'm still yet to get the wheels painted so plenty of time to make a decision. |

I’ve been running Nexen N-Fera SU4’s and they’re a great ‘budget’ tyre. Good grip wet and dry. Might go up to 50 profile next though.
