Exclamation 2018 SC60 Software bugs.

Hi all,

I have a 2018 SC60 Inscription with 6K miles on it. So far love the car, except for some quirks.
It seems when I brought it in for the 3 months service, they did a software update. Here are some of the things that seemed to happen after.

1) Auto High beams seem to stop "auto"
2) Auto windshield wipers seem to be inconsistent as to how they work.
Sometimes they work fine, sometimes I almost can't see with the amount
of rain before they engage.
3) Rear wiper on reverse does not work at all, (yes, it is checked)
4) No matter where I seem to place my foot, the rear hatch never opens.
(Unless I happen to be bending down near the back, then it seems to
want to hit me in the head.)

But by far the most dangerous and annoying is the collusion avoidance auto brake. I get many "false flags" especially going into turns. A few times the "auto braking" actually engaged for a second causing me to lurch forward in the seat.

Just wondering if anyone else has these problems or different ones.
Anyone know about a fix ?

thanks.

It's a new car with6k miles on it, were it mine it would be back at the dealers untill fixed and I would be driving their courtesy car untill it was. If the dealer cannot fix it themselves they contact volvo technical. If they start prevaricating threaten to reject the car, it's not what you baught and want.

Without a doubt get it back to the dealers along with a written list of your complaints and tell them[stay polite]you want it fixed and if it's going to take any length of time-say a day-ask for a courtesy car until such time as it's fit for purpose.

I had a small procedure carried out on my S60 by my local dealer. They updated the software too. Some time later I found that the 'see me home' lighting no longer worked (although I wasn't sure if it ever had- never really use it!) A couple of other things seemed to be missing, but as always, you never get around to checking. Yesterday, while waiting for my other half I started fidgeting with the MY CAR menu. Everything was ticked correctly according to my settings. Just because I was bored I unchecked and rechecked everything and also reset the whole car settings. Everything now works as I want it to, including the lighting, wipers etc.

So, yes the upgrade may well have caused your previously saved settings to stop even though the boxes are still checked/ticked. I would recommend resetting them all before approaching Volvo.

Hope it works.

Similar to Spike56. I replaced the battery in my V70 last week and initially thought everything was OK with the car settings in the menu etc. However the next day I noticed the "coming home" lights stayed on for ages after I had locked the car. I check the menu and it still said 30 seconds as it had done before the battery change. I changed in to 60 seconds and then back to 30 and the problem was fixed. I then went through all of the menus and re-set them all to my prefered values. It may be the case that after a battery disconnect the menus stay the same but some of the programmed values may default.

It might be worth going through all the settings, change them and then change them back to what you want as suggested.
