Default Anyone use the P1800 Trunk Button on an Amazon? It works

I have found that the P1800 trunk button is very easy to use on the Amazon, and I think it will potentially make the car much cleaner looking in the rear.. All you have to do is drill a hole for the P1800 button body to fall into, and the mechanicals of the P1800 button will actually work the Amazon trunk release, with no Mods..

I am also working on installing the license plate into the bumper, but I have to do a bit of contouring and tweeking still.. I am not set on it yet, but I think it all could potentially work out. I will also be removing the bumper guards, and plan on welding the bumper up, to make it a one piece bumper.

Why no just have an internal cable release?

The P1800 botton to me does not look right on the amazon - looks more of an after thought.

I thought about the cable release, or electric solenoid, but there isnt trunk access to the Amazon, if either should fail.. I dont know if you have used either in the past, but I have, and they do fail on occassion.

I am hoping that once the clutter of where all the other holes are filled, that the afterthought look might disappear, but it really was a after thought.. LOL

Thanks James... I havent been showcasing alot of things going on, because of some of the purist resitance, but I think you will be surprised with what has been going on.. Volvo X is getting wrapped up mechanically, with the 540 horsepower LS6, and I am getting some of the body roughed in, so it atleast looks a bit decent for the pics and video's coming up..

You could fit a backup cable behind a rear lamp as they are externaly removable.

I'd not worry about any of those purists.

Those who are open minded can look and see what is going on. The Purist that do not like it are not forced to read your posts are they?

Ha Ha, you would sure think they werent forced to, but we are going through some battles on Swedespeed, and I have basically quite posting anything on the 1800list.. It seems that people cant control themselves from opening the post, and then they get upset with me, because they opened the post..?

As far as the Swedespeed battle, I have tried not to be an ass, but it is too much fun letting Dimitri talk.. If you want a mindless/fun read, check out this guy.. Before you do, I must apologize for some of my comments in dealing with him, because it isnt exactly professional, but I couldnt help myself.

I will be as political correct as I allow myself to be and say Dimitri is a little special. I don't know why you bother entertaining him with replying.
