Autobox ecu light on then off - now engine management light on!
Hi all
This morning I had the flashing arrow on the dashboard, indicating auto box problems, and I couldn't drive the car, upon checking under the bonnet to try and receive the error codes I find I haven't got any modules! :( there is a space on the ECU black box for them to slot into though! Any one else found this? This afternoon I went and had another go and everything was now OK?? no lights etc, and drivable, warmer weather perhaps, so I thought I'll investigate the PNP switch I removed the black breather pipes near the battery etc, but couldn't really see anything, and for some unknown reason I went and started the car without these pipes reconnected, I now have the engine management light on! Does any one have a solution or advice? Regards Mike '96 GLT Auto Estate For Every Problem - There is a Solution |

You will need a Volvo specific code reader to read codes on your car.
This one will do it: http://www.onboarddiagnostics.co.uk/volfcr/index.htm The gearbox problem does sound like the PNP switch. |

Hi Chris
Thanks, after reading through bay13 stuff, i do believe your right about the PNP switch, thanks also for the link, I'll have to start saving! I had anothe rproblem this morning central locking solenoid would'nt operate, i had to use the key in the lock (the old fashioned way!) it still seems a bit sluggish. Roll on summer!!!
