Default "Red Key" Functionality

I understand Volvos either used to come with a 'red key' or one could be specified. And that this key used to effectively 'lock down' the car, so the glove box and boot couldn't be opened and, I believe, performance was significantly restricted?

Whilst I don't need a physical 'red key' and note that there is a 'Private Locking' feature, I don't think it is possible to turn down the performance - or is it? I will shortly be leaving mine with a 'Valet Parking Service' - would be nice to know they can't scream it around - even if I can track how far they go and average speed etc!!

Presumably, not too difficult to achieve? Limit top speed, top revs and maybe lock it in 'Eco Mode'?

Thanks for that...

So they are still available - for about £110 fitted.

Not too bad for an extra key, but I still think it ought to just be possible to program pne of the existing keys to behave as a 'red key'.
