Instrument binnacle
Hi
I have a 144 DL with the later dash and round speedo etc. I would like a rev counter. Would an early 240 dash binnacle fit as they have a small tachograph in the middle. Thanks |

They look very similar although I can't say if they are the same.
Be aware that not all 240s (up to '80 have that shape) come with rev counters |

As Tony says re what the donor 240 comes with, BUT from memory the 140 binnacle has bottom-edge fixing points whereas the 240 has top-edge (or the other way round!). Similarly the multi-connectors can differ, and the fitment or need for a ballast resistor. Also later 240s don't use a speedo-cable, they are electric.
Take a trip to a breakers and check a 240 to be sure. P |

As far as I remember the rev counter is the same on the 144 and 244 ,up to about 1980 , the blank in the middle of the binnacle once removed leaves a space to plug the rev counter in , then you need to take a trigger wire back to the coil . The whole binnacle needs to be removed to do this , also make sure you have a 4 cyl rev counter as the 6 cyl looks identicle its marked on the back

If you are struggling to find a revcounter I may have one from many years ago
