Hi Russ , My question would be why would you want a competition 1/2 shaft(s) unless you are going to give it full chat in rallies or races. Cannot see any other benefit really for a classic road car.
I have built rally cars for stage and tarmac including an Irish championship Cosworth and a car I rallied on the Roger Albert in 2008. If you are concerned about yours being worn I guess fair enough if you cannot get standard ones or if you think its cracked get them x rayed (I guess where you work may be able to do that). Will be coming down to Locks Heath shortly so this overdue pint can be consumed

Let me know when you are down and I will pop up to LH. I mentioned because the general held belief the half shafts were weak, which I understand but have never seen is at the junction of the shaft and thread. I’m presuming nut and thread remain the same, as well as the splines, which means the shaft is probably thicker which wouldn’t get away from the ‘known’ weak point. I’m putting out a fair bit over standard and whilst I don’t do launches or track the car, maybe I’m exploiting the weakness?! I’ve moved on from that company now, involved with a company that provides intervention vehicles for SF and CT groups. It’s humorous watching the customer test the end product, they certainly don’t worry about weak half shafts!! https://srbltcbn.tkhcloudstorage.com...24d202e0742ab5 Russ |
