screen wash pump
Since my 6v screen wash pump went belly up I have been looking for one of the early hand operated systems. Been looking on ebay but not sure of the correct term. Help!

Investigate mode of failure, to see if repairable, before considering replacement...many times these assemblies can be repaired... BTW...is your Wiperswitch available for a (glamour) photoshoot? (See other thread I just started!) Cheers |

Great!...glad to help....please let us know how these inexpensive 6 to12V inverters work out long-term in these applications...and if any issues come up...I would like to recommend them to other 6V owners as an option, knowing you have (had) a good hands-on experience. Questions: How warm do they get? (obviously the one under continuous use will get warmer than the occasional-use-only one)...are those wire entrances waterproof? (if not, sealing them with a dab of silicon is a good idea...)...I presume you wired them, supplying them from the fused Ign Power circuit, by way of their respective switches... These are also switch-mode inverters which can/often do generate much RF trash from their internal high freq switching circuit, that may show up on AM radios as "birdies"...if this is an issue, you may need to add filtering... Reference other thread: https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=279068 Cheers |

OK will keep you informed. Wired as you suggested through ign' switch. PS. I prefer to use blue tack instead of silicon which I find too messy

Thanks for follow-up...overheating would have shown up immediately as this is a function of how well the modules are shedding the heat they generate every time they are powered up and under load...long-term results are more toward reliability...ie how long before they fail or develop functional issues...
