Here's what the carpets look like properly installed. Color is actually a bit darker, but you get the idea. Thanks again for the tip.

Wouldn't the tunnel cover carpet fit over the floor pan bits?

It will... I was just waiting until I have the seats in and see which config is better from a foot interference perspective; probably irrelevant when I put down the rubber floor mats anyway.

Looks right like it is. Floor carpets generally go on top.

Kinda what I thought, but was saving that call for later.

One note for anyone interested in the VP carpets: you might've noticed that the cutout for the seatbelt anchor loop is trimmed in black... this is NOT the way the carpet comes from the supplier. The installer has to cut out the carpet for the anchor; I had the edges finished off by the upholsterer when he sewed up the new firewall insulation blanket (comes as a kit from VP). He did a nice job sewing on black leather, which complements the black vinyl trim used elsewhere on the carpets, which I anchored with Velcro.

The carpets also come with fiber padding to be glued to the back. They add a nice (if nonstandard) look to the interior, and should quiet things up a bit.
