There's the Swedish Amazon forum and they also have a facebook page so might be worth dropping a note on them regarding any bits you're after before you head over.

Regarding the wings I don't think there is an issue buying them new. I think the Amazon wings are not too bad unlike the new P1800 wings which require a fair bit of work to get them to fit properly.

Also where in Oz are you from?

Perth boy born n bred

Have also Lived on the gold coast, bondi and mt buller

I'm from Ayr in NQ. Also lived all Oz over working in the mines. Lived on and off in Perth/Freo for two years though in the early 90s, I especially like Freo and just went back to Perth for the first time since I left to visit my sister and brother-in-law in September who immigrated there a couple of years ago. Hell of a lot more expensive now than it use to be.

Hey Guys,
Speedsnakes lady must be an angel. I bought the rear screen from the donor car just in case I break mine removing it for my respray. I travelled to Balham to pick it up and met this great guy. The reason his lady must be an angel is .........
Parked in front of his block of flats were 2 other projects of his, a VW caravanette and a grey vehicle (cant remember what). On top of that in the road was a nice looking restored???? red Mk11 escort.

Speedsnake, tread careful with your lady mate, she most certainly is a diamond.

Ayr eh !
Been there on a road trip from cape trib to the goldy years ago

Yeah it's crazy expensive now - don't think I could afford to move home even if I wanted to....

We're over London life now but south sweden looks like it will be the next place I call home....

How long you been here ?

Andy.

Cheers mate

She's a good one for sure

As I said before - she knew what she was getting into - its actually better now that my time is spent on projects here - I was working in the states for three years on a motorsport project and away for months at a time... So at least with all my current stuff I'm home each night...

The mk2 escort 1600 sport and the 57 Vw Splitty are whats left of a small fleet of classics that I imported from south Africa.

There's a part built mk2 escort rally car and a BMW e30 race car that's almost finished at my workshop also....

Plus a jap hot hatch and an lpg vito kicking around too...

Something needs to go for when the amazon comes home that's for sure...

Anyone want an lpg campervan or a nice mk2 escort ?

Been here almost 11 years, still need to work on the accent though. I like Aberdeen and Scotland and we've made pretty good lives here.

This thread has had a 12 month break so lets Try to catch it up with what I've been up to on the Volvo front...

Firstly I got the 122s all stripped and I mean all stripped, I barely left a nut or bolt on that car

Some pics.....

It had a nice blood red headrest interior, twin carb b20, overdrive box, Simons exhaust and lots of other good bits....

All stripped out and loaded with scrap to go to the recyclers

I know it may have been repairable but it really was bad underneath floors chassis rails etc

I still felt bad......

But then I looked at the pile of parts I had and got over it

Nice to see some recycling i know a 4-door will help an estate so its par for the course as loads of us have said the Amazon Estates are just so practical that they have been used as workhorses and alas need a injection of life pumped into some to bring them back up to standard but boy is it worth it they are so much fun and worth the investment i say keep us posted andy

will enjoy seeing more pics as the project picks up ...

I then did my best to throw the good parts at my estate and sell off the sedan only parts and whatever I didn't need to fund what I needed to buy...

Brookhouse supplied me with the Simons exhaust section that is estate particular so I could fit that with the engine...

So after a lack of sleep, a chunk of money on a couple of old cars and some diesel plus a bit blood, sweat and tears I had a amazon estate in my drive with a twin SU fuelled b20, overdrive box, good interior, Simons exhaust, solid wings and front panel, working lights and a period roof rack that a found in Bristol...

Just like that

Easy really
