Default MX-5 (MIATA) gearbox behind a B20?

Was looking at the Miata transmission gear ratios and they are very close to the Amazon M40 box.

MX5 122

3.13 3.13
1.88 1.99
1.33 1.36
1.00 1.00
.814

The big question is has anyone done it? I get that machining and adaptors will be needed. As well as finding the clutch set up that works.

Thoughts?

Sorry don't know anything about that. Wouldn't you be better going T5?

I'm aware of that swap, but it seems to have mixed reviews. Noisy is one issue I keep hearing. I'm not ruling it out I just would like to consider other options.

The ratios do look alright and for a 5 speed upgrade on a tame engine they should be upto it. The main issue I see with them is they are very long and making an adaptor is not going to be simple. They are cheap so an interesting idea to look into

Been a few years. Still no progress on transmission swap. Kid is in college still so its just a thought process for now. Thought I would bump this just in case someone has news on this idea? Never know.
