Yes ... just look at my pics and comment above. In essence they are the same car, but note I found that the fixing for front two roof fixings had been moved inward from the direct straight line all the front/back 745 fixings are. Put up a post in the 'Wanted' Section and look on 'Sales'/Gumtree/eBay etc. At the moment there are lots of 940's being scrapped ... you just got to find a 'nice' headliner.

Bill the answer to both questions is YES!!!!

If you read this thread from your first post on Pg1 (we're now on Pg2) you'll see it has been recommended as it is a straight swap and also that Dai in Anglesey has a good one from a 940 that would fit straight in.

Please look at my recent post about my headlining, could you please tell me how was it secured in the middle near the light, better still if you could show me photo's, David.

That might not be any help David - it's an estate headlining so (knowing Volvo) has the potential to use slightly different fixing methods.

Glad you have got one, but that was a long way to go ... it would have been much easier to take the old one out before you left and then just loosely slot the new one in for the journey home!! Hope you get it fitted OK.. Let us all know how you get on (with some pics)

I didn't realise Anglesey was so far! I thought i'd gone a long way for a new headliner, my round trip (excluding diversions to collect and drop off other car parts en route) was about the same as the one way trip to Anglesey from Uxbridge!

Got me beat by a very merry mile! About 400-420 merry miles in fact!

Default Headlining 740 Estate

Well heres something for you guys...

People say that the 960 headlining fits into the 740 it does and I have to say its better....However there are 5 retaining squire plugs that hold the lining up. The front 2 do not locate into the roof holes....The back 2 do and the single one does.

I have had to make my own modification good luck
