Short run, ABS warning light came on and the readings were;

Position I - 1.1.1

Position F - 1.1.1

Position A - 1.5.2

Position C - no light

Codes reset and I will try one more time, but it must be the right front wheel sensor.

I will have a go at removing it to clean, but if it is anything like the passenger side sensor, it is not going to budge. I can get one for £18 off ebay.

No joy trying to get the ABS sensor off, so new one ordered and will have another, more brutal go, so if it breaks, I can fit the new one.

Default Not quite obdii

I am not confident in the information above. My understanding is that the 940s with what looks like an OBDII socket in teh cubby between the seats need a flash reader, and that NO computer program will read them. I am less clear about the date changeover - but both my Sport Editions have which are on N plates and mostly work with the home-built Volvo flash reader!.

The home made reader I have been loaned works and gives codes that are consistent with known faults.

I do accept it is not really an OBD II and it would be better described as an OBD I, maybe?

Yes. I call it a “not quite OBD II”. I’d like to know, could you read both the ECU and the EZK?

There are two lift out bits in the centre console, but only one has a socket to plug the reader into.

Indeed but the usual design of the flash box involves a rotary switch to enable you to read certainly teh ECU and teh EZK and a couple of other things too.

Posted back first class. Many thanks.

Less than a tenner to read the codes Volvo wanted nearly £130 to do.
